Susan Meister called the meeting to order at 10 am.
The purpose of the meeting was to take a final vote on a vendor for library insurance (contents, liability and workman’s compensation).
This vote was needed to supplement discussion conducted at the November 25, 2013 meeting of the Board which only had two quotes to consider.
Those present reviewed and discussed the three insurance quotes. The group voted 3-1 to accept coverage as quoted by Wilken Insurance, Lebanon, IL. This vote was made contingent upon the insurance representative attending a meeting as soon as possible to explain all the details of the policy.
A letter was drafted to be sent to Paul Grob, City Treasurer, alerting the City that the Library now has its own coverage. Another letter was drafted requesting an explanation as to why the Library’s portion of the entire insurance bill was nearly 80% of the total.
The group also noted that this coverage may be contingent on receiving a letter from the City of Lebanon confirming that the Lebanon Public Library is a tenant in the building through April 30, 2014 with rent paid in full, if it is requested by the insurance company.
The meeting adjourned at 10:45 am.
