I Need My Monster by Amanda Noll

One night, when young Ethan checks under his bed for his usual monster, Gabe.  What he finds instead is a note: “Gone fishing.  Back in a week.”  Oh no!  How will poor Ethan fall asleep without Gabe’s ragged breathing and scraping claws?  Ethan quickly raps on the floor and jumps back into his bed.  During the night a series of four substitute monsters arrive for Ethan’s approval.  None of them are like Gabe though. Herbert has no claws, Cynthia has the claws and tail, but she’s a girl monster.  Hello . . . everyone knows a boy needs a boy monster.  The hilarious parade of substitute monsters continues, but none of them measures up to Ethan’s beloved Gabe.  Will Gabe come back in time to save the day or . . . um . . . night, as the case may be?  This amusing, colorful book is a fun way to dispel a very common childhood fear.  It is sure to become your child’s favorite bedtime read.
